During the 2023-2024 academic year, a Bilateral Erasmus Agreement was signed between the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department of our university and Escola Superior de Saúde de Santa Maria (ESSSM) Health School, which was visited by our Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation faculty members through the Erasmus Staff Mobility program. Professor José Manuel Silva, the Director of ESSSM, along with his esteemed spouse, visited Istinye University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. Positive discussions were held regarding future collaborations and projects between the universities.
The faculty members of İstinye University Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation attended the Cybernicx Future: Step into the Future Panel held at Mandarin Hotel / Istanbul on October 30, 2024. In the panel, innovative approaches such as digitalization, robotic systems and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare were discussed, and knowledge and experience were shared on the integration of these technologies into physiotherapy and rehabilitation processes.
At the Diabetes Awareness Day organized within the scope of “Community Contribution Events”, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department faculty members Dr. Lecturer Nalan Soydaş Engin, Res. Asst. Hatice Karabulut and PhD student Ceren Derya Gültekin provided information about diabetes and had the participants do exercises.
Research Assistant Özge Ecem ŞENEL from the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Istinye University participated in the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress 2024, held in Vienna, Austria, from September 7-11, 2024, with a poster presentation. Leva Ozola, Lecturer at Latvia University, Dr. Gülcü Urhan, Lecturer, and Nuket Atalay, Honorary President of CIF Turkey and the YÖRET Foundation, delivered a speech at the meeting.
