Dr. Muharrem Usta, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Erdal Karaöz, the Rector, Prof. Engin Ulukaya, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences gave a speech at the opening ceremony for the 1st Digital Nursing Congress at Istinye University where they emphasized the importance of the 1st Digital Nursing congress in terms of the opportunity it offers for discussing the impact of digital transformation on the profession of nursing, a vital part and parcel of the health industry.
In his speech, Dr. Muharrem Usta, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, said, “When we use the word digital, we must first consider data, and then software and algorithms. For us, data will always be at the forefront of our priorities. Since medicine is individual, data should also become more individualized”.
Mentioning that doctors and nurses alike should be aware of these trends, Usta continued, “ In the world of artificial intelligence, we need to know what data we need and build on that. It is therefore of great importance that we design and develop our own systems. The history will mention those who shape the new world.”

In his speech, Prof. Erdal Karaöz, the Rector, mentioned how the university’s priority was research and development and how Istinye University brought together the fields of engineering and medicine at its brand-new Research Center for Medical Artificial Intelligence, a testament to its pioneering role and the great works they are destined to do.
In his speech, Prof. Engin Ulukaya, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, said, “We are all on the path to digitization, a trend that made a big splash for itself. In the stormy process ahead, some will go down, and some will ride the waves. Ours is the first university that wised up to digitization” referring to digitization’s potential to change the future.
